  • Manufacturing

    • All Octacell pods are designed and manufactured in Finland. The first-class components used in the production are chosen from the selection of our domestic partners. 

  • Showroom and visit

    • Our current showroom is located in the city centre of Helsinki on Kaivokatu, opposite the Helsinki Central Station. In the showroom, you can familiarise yourself with the collection of Octacell pods. The showroom at Kaivokatu can be easily reached with public transport or by parking your car in the WTC building’s parking garage. Contact the Octacell team and agree on the most suitable time for your visit. 

  • Quality

    • Quality is a matter of honour for us. Octacell pods are made of high-quality materials by professionals in Finland. Modules are manufactured by means of state-of-the-art manufacturing methods and computer-controlled CNC machines. Sustainably produces components and materials are used in the production.

  • Duration of installation

    • It takes a couple of hours to install an individual product in the office. We can also install several pods on the same day.

  • Delivery time

    • The average delivery time is five weeks, but individual products may arrive even quicker, depending on the situation.

Pod features:

  • Ventilation

    • The powerful low-noise ventilation in the pods is based on adjustable forced ventilation for extract and input air. Ventilation utilises air from the surrounding space, which means that there is no need to connect the pod to the property’s ventilation system. Cooling, which is powered by electricity, is also available for the pods. Cooling can also be added to the pod at a later stage by changing the ceiling module into a cooling version.

    Sliding door

    • All Octacell pods are equipped with a sliding door as standard, and a one-leaf door is available as an accessory. The sliding door makes the space use more efficient, as space required by a door opening outwards is not needed. The sliding door enables also narrower corridors.

  • Location in the premises/office

    • Octacell pods are made of modules that can be assembled almost without limitations. The location and number of glass walls and the walls without openings can be changed nearly endlessly in accordance with the surrounding space. The modular structure of the pods enables, for example, the optimisation of natural light. Whether this natural light is required in the Octacell pod or in the actual office through the pod. Modular Octacell pods can be placed against the wall, in the corner or in the middle of the office. The external surfaces of the pods can also be used as an attachment surface and, thereby, integrate the pod with the interior design of the office. It is important to place the pod where the employees are able to avoid obstacles.

  • Most suitable space

    • Octacell pods are best suited for 1–8 people. All needs can be met with the modular structure of the pods. The pods on our website are examples, but we can tailor pods of any sizes. This tailoring will not create additional costs, as the same elements are used in the assemblies. 

    • The best way to start designing is to define the number of simultaneous users. Due to the modular structure of the Octacell pods, the pod can be designed to fulfill your specific needs. The rule of thumb is: 

      • 1–2 persons: 2X1 or 2X2.

      • 2–4 persons: 3X2 or 3X3.

      • 4+ persons: 4X3, 4X4 or 5X4.  

  • Is it possible to move the product?

    • Yes. Octacell offers a moving service with which the Octacell pods can be moved to new premises. In addition, the new premises may also lead to changed needs. Due the flexibility of Octacell pods, we can cost-efficiently modify the existing pods in connection with the moving to meet the new needs. This means that Octacell pods are long-term investments. 

  • Flexibility and movability

    • All modular Octacell pods are made of elements, which means that the location of the glass walls and the walls without openings as well as the size of the pods can be easily changed. This flexibility makes it possible to adjust the Octacell pods to meet your company’s needs.

    • When the number of employees increases, the pods can be extended or they can be divided into separate pods serving different purposes. Pod flexibility guarantees the best and most cost-effective solution supporting the company’s operations, as there is no longer a need for considerable one-off investments. By changing the existing pods, the premises will serve the new needs.

  • Placing against the wall

    • Octacell pods can be placed against the wall or in a corner. The modularity of the pods and operating principle of ventilation ensure that there is no need to leave any empty space around the pod. 

  • Maintenance and guarantee

    • Octacell products require only little maintenance due to their robust and high-quality structure. All our products come with a five-year guarantee for the frame components and normal two-year guarantee for wearing parts (e.g. lights). The guarantee covers flaws and defects caused by normal use.  

    • Please note that furniture possibly purchased in the same connection may have different terms of guarantee. Furniture is covered by the manufacturer’s or importer’s guarantee.

  • Sustainability

    • We constantly develop our products and processes to make them less energy and material-intensive. In addition, we have minimised the energy consumption of the product during use.

    • We are also constantly searching for more ecological material alternatives for our products. Here are a couple of examples of our success so far: 

    • Soundproofing material: made of recycled plastic foam pellets

    • Element boards: made of MDF boards containing surplus material from wood processing

Technical features:

  • Soundproofing

    • The soundproofing of the Octacell pods is one of the best on the market. In the measurement carried out by Helimaki Acoustics/Sitowise in accordance with the measurement standard ISO 23351-1, Octacell 2X1 pod reached class A+ (33.1 dB). According to our experience, our customers have been positively surprised by the excellent soundproofing. When comparing the soundproofing decibels of different products, check that the measurement results have been achieved using the same measurement standard. Results reached under different measurement standard are not comparable and may be misleading.

  • Noise created by the pods

    • The ventilation of Octacell pods creates only a little noise. You can hear that the ventilation is on from quiet humming inside and outside the pod. Usually, you can only hear the quiet humming when you switch on the ventilation and, after that, the humming blends in with the property’s ventilation and office sounds.

  • Cooling

    • If necessary, Octacell products can be cooled down with a purely electric cooling solution developed in cooperation with Halton Oy. Cooling only requires a power supply of 230 V and is not fixed to the property’s structures. Cooling does not produce condensation water.

  • Fire safety

    • The pod materials are not flammable or do not contribute to fire. It is possible to equip Octacell pods with separate aerosol fire extinguishing equipment if the property’s fire safety requires this. Usually this is not required as Octacell products are regarded as office furniture.

  • Surface and colour options

    • Exterior surface standard colours: black, white

    • Exterior surface special colours: Different wood veneers and RAL colours

    • Wall upholstery standard colours: Dark grey

    • Wall upholstery special colours: 32 different upholstery colours

  • Ligths

    • Octacell pods are equipped with adjustable LED lights. The lights are extremely energy-efficient and switch on and off automatically with motion sensors.

  • Electricity and data connection sockets 

    • All Octacell pods have two standard power sockets and, if necessary, the number of sockets can be increased. The power sockets can be placed almost freely to the desired wall. The supply power (230 V) in the pods can be led inside the pod from above or, alternatively, from the bottom edge of the corner. A data socket can also be installed as an accessory in the pod.

  • Furniture

    • We offer fully furnished pods as well as pods without furniture. Any existing furniture can be used in the Octacell pod without limitations, but we recommend checking our desk collection, as these desks are especially dimensioned and tested to be used in the pods.

  • Video meeting

    • Your video meetings will reach another level when you have the meeting in the Octacell pod equipped with high-quality video meeting system. We welcome you to visit our showroom and test it.
